Battlefield 2042 players weren't too happy when DICE added a Santa Claus Holiday-themed skin to the game, and now the developers have responded to the criticism.
There is a plethora of fun content in Battlefield 2042, and the developers decided to get players into the holiday spirit by adding a Santa Claus skin to the game. However, this cosmetic was heavily criticized.
Many fans roasted the skin, stating that it was too "goofy" and didn't fit the serious tone of Battlefield. This led to a response from the developers, who explained their decision to create this skin.
Various Battlefield 2042 players stated that the Santa Claus Holiday-themed skin doesn't suit the tone of the game. Some felt that a cosmetic like this belongs in a light-hearted title like Fortnite.

The Battlefield Direct Communication Twitter account responded by letting players know that they didn't plan to reveal the Holiday-themed cosmetics and then clarified their actual purpose in the game.
They made it clear that while they designed these cosmetic skins, they "presently have no plans to utilize all of them this Holiday." Instead, they were mostly meant for a "single-time use" in Portal modes.
"Throughout our live service, you may occasionally encounter these mode locked cosmetics, which don't impact the rest of the game," they tweeted. Meaning that some of these are just special cosmetics that aren't meant to represent the overall tone of the game.
There were a variety of different reactions from players in the replies. Some of them expressed their relief that these types of skins are not going to be the norm in Battlefield 2042, while others labelled this response as "damage control."
"Not a chance in hell," replied one user. "You think they'd tease holiday skins, before the holidays, without intending to use them before the backlash?" This was a sentiment shared by quite a few repliers.

At the time of writing, it remains to be seen whether or not the Santa Claus skin will still be a part of the game after the criticism it received from fans. The developers might have some surprises planned for the Holiday season.

Destiny 2 Anniversary Event hints at Halo crossover
Destiny 2 players have spotted some Halo weapons in the upcoming 30th Anniversary event, and they believe it could be teasing a crossover.

The Bungie 30th Anniversary Pack will arrive in Destiny 2 soon, and the teasers appear to show Guardian's rocking some very familiar Halo weapons. This has sparked rumors that a Halo crossover will be arriving in Destiny 2 soon.
Bungie kickstarted the legendary Halo franchise back in 2001 but since parting ways with Microsoft, has now moved on to developing and supporting Destiny. Now, Halo is in the hands of 343 Industries.
Bungie will celebrate its 30th anniversary with a special Destiny 2 event that brings over content and cosmetics from its previous games. Although it's Bungie's most famous franchise, there was no confirmation that any Halo content would arrive.
However, on the 30th Anniversary Pack's Steam page, eagle-eyed players believe they have spotted Halo weapons that tease a crossover.
The Bungie 30th Anniversary Pack launches on December 7 and brings a new Dungeon, as well as the Gjallarhorn Exotic Rocket Launcher, and weapons and armor from its previous games – Myth and Marathon.

Although Halo put Bungie on the map, the end of its Microsoft partnership has meant that Destiny and Halo have never had a crossover. However, it appears that could change.
Players have spotted weapons that look extremely similar to Halo's classic Battle Rifle and Focus Rifle (or Covenant Carbine) in an image from Destiny 2's 'Dares of Eternity' activity.
Some also believed that they spotted a Needler in the same image, but it's actually a new armor set where the shoulder piece has some very familiar purple needles poking out of it.

However, there's no guarantee that this will be an official crossover. It's likely that Bungie has crafted new weapons that are inspired by Halo's but in such a way that it doesn't directly bring them over.
While an official crossover is possible, we'll need to wait until the 30th Anniversary event releases to know just how much Halo will arrive in Destiny 2.

Halo Infinite players call for changes to "horrible" melee hit registration

Halo Infinite players aren't particularly fond of how the melee functions and many of them are calling for 343 Industries to make some major changes to the hit registration.
The multiplayer beta for Halo Infinite has a plethora of content for fans to enjoy, but the game also has some major problems. These include glitches that de-rank players after wins and a cheater problem that might be worse than Warzone's.
One feature that has received criticism from fans is the game's melee system. It isn't functioning properly, as several players have reported problems with the hit registration and are asking the devs to fix it.
While Halo Infinite players have a wide array of weapons at their disposal, sometimes it's better to get up close and personal with your opponents. The melee mechanic lets you dish some serious damage and destroy enemy shields.

This is helpful when you're running low on ammo or in a close-quarters combat situation. However, the Halo Infinite melee hits don't always register properly, and Redditor WonAte highlighted this issue in the Halo Infinite subreddit.
The clip they posted showcases the player hitting an enemy with a melee attack, but the game doesn't register the hit and the opponent is able to take them down. Many of the commenters agreed that the melee system isn't working properly.
"Absolutely love most of the gameplay… apart from the melee," wrote one user. "As soon as people are near each other there's just horrible teleportating[sic]/phasing lunges happening."
The inconsistent melee hit registration often causes players to phase through their opponents, and many have reported this happening when they tried lunging at the enemies at close range.
"Melee is far too inconsistent on lunges and I feel like I'm always on the receiving end of someone lunging as if they have an Energy Sword," wrote NoTransportation888. "The no collision is what does me in the most."
